Children’s Playground ST5667 7325
A children’s playground was established here in the 1970s, in the site of an old quarry. In 2014 completely new equipment was installed and is proving to be very popular. In 2015 a fine wooden bench, carved with intriguing information about the natural history, history and people (past and present), of this part of the Downs was unveiled. There are 10 tiny spiders carved into the bench with a challenge to visitors to spot them all (trickier than it sounds!). The bench was commissioned by the Clifton and Hotwells Improvement Society.
