Dark Sky Discovery Site ST5635 7478
Dark Sky Discovery Sites are great places for observing the sky on a clear night. They are found all over the UK and are places with good public access and low light pollution. Durdham Down was designated as a Dark Sky Discovery Site (Orion Class) in 2013. It was the second Bristol site to be given this special title, the first of which was Victoria Park in Totterdown. Leigh Woods has since been designated as well.
You can visit the Durdham Down Dark Sky Discovery Site anytime you like but we also run star parties in conjunction with Bristol Astronomical Society and Explorer Dome.  Visit www.avongorge.org.uk for details of the next one.
